Alter Ego offers quality teaching in a fun and supportive environment in which members can learn new acting skills, or build on those they already have. No experience is necessary, just plenty of enthusiasm and a ‘have a go’ attitude. The sessions are packed full of opportunities for members to use their imagination and creativity through improvisation, text and devised work.
Each of our three teachers – Gemma, Jo and Caroline – are experienced facilitators and performers who are keen to share their passion for acting with others. They are committed to offering varied and interesting sessions covering a broad range of theatrical styles and genres, giving members individual attention and the chance for personal development and self- expression.
The benefits of attending Alter Ego are manifold – meeting new people with a common interest, discovering hidden talents, improving self-confidence, learning transferable skills for everyday life and relaxing by discovering the ‘other you’.
Alter Ego is different from an amateur dramatic society in that we offer members the space to ‘play’ and the tools to create their own work and acquire an insight into the endlessly fascinating world of ‘make believe’ – with no pressure attached.
